Sorry about the parts Murf. I bet we all could start a thread that sounded similar. I've had a few oppsesez' in my time.
Better to find it in the garage (few bad parts)
as opposed to the top end of the track (many flying parts).

Man, sorry to hear that bad news. But, it was better to discover it at idle rather than WFO!!

As Gary said - don't feel too bad - we've all had our share of oops.

The Falcon lives again.

Was out of town for a week and a half on bidness and was unable to complete everything before I left. But I finished it all up yesterday and even took it for a spin, much to the glee or annoyance of my neighbors, depending on age and perspective. Since I de-stickered the car it now only seems like a very loud and stinky street car, sort of.

Anyhoo, found a few 'Hmmms' that I corrected, one being a bit too soft of a main return spring. Butterflies didn't seem to close properly, so I replaced the main spring with a bit stouter one. Have about 36 in the mag, starts fairly easy, throttle response is crisp, and I've already been back under the valve covers to make sure everything is where it's supposed to be.

Going to try for Bremerton in two weeks.

Yee-haw!

I guess I haven't updated here in a bit.

So after our 'debut' at Arlington last month we did take the car out to Bremerton for a Friday afternoon T&T. Car ran well and was able to drive it on to the trailer at the end of the day, and off the trailer to the garage when we got home. Going by past experiences that is a huge success for me! Nuthin' busted!

Car wasn't as fast as I thought it would be but didn't do too bad. On my best run I had a hose clamp come loose so I had to shut off at about 1000', but it ran a .154 60', 7.16 @ 98 at 1/2 track, crossed the stripe with an 11.51 @ 96. I just don't think there's any 10's in this package, but there might be some 11-teens in there. I'm still running the out of the box tune on the injection as Spud Miller set it up and that appears to be a very safe setup. Come the spring I'll start making tuning passes to see where it wants to be.

But this coming weekend is going to be fun. The Totally Awesome Missus Murff and I had already decided to run the car one more time before bagging it up for winter, at Pacific this Saturday. Then I see that Slick Vic is going to be there with the Vega. Now I am really stoked! Couldn't go to CHHR to see him run, now he's coming 'To A Dragstrip Near Me' to put the hammer down. I get to see history being made. Camera's will be rolling.

Oh yeah, here's a clip of the pass where the clamp came loose. It dribbled some at the starting line, you can see the puddle under the car. I got lucky.
