Tell me about your kids...

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

sorry to report no kids .. I have the best niece and nephew in the world though they live in Ft Worth and come up to visit my mom in the summer . Jeffery is now 16 and Ashely Elizabeth is 14 my brother has his hands full when it comes time to dating with her. Jeff isn't into cars hes a computer wiz ( should be my brother was a code writer at Microsoft before he got sick of the industry ) and Ashely is artistic and mechanical , ( my brother needs that to have someone fix his car) its funny as I still remember Jeffery as a baby at my wedding , like every one else says they grow up to fast , but at least the kids keep telling me I am there coolest uncle as I do spoil them.

That's great, Stimpy...my sister spoils my boys, too. They are crazy about her...your brother's kids will remember their Uncle Stimpy forever...I know mine remember Aunt Wildcat2...especially when she's in town or when their birthdays or Christmas comes around! Cheers, WC1

I had a great time with all my nieces and nephews on our vacation. One sad thing about our living out on the East Coast while our families live in the Midwest and Colorado/Nebraska, respectively. bp

yea I know what you mean , the last time the two of them where up here they found out about my other Hobby which is shooting ( target , skeet , high power rifle) and asked to see if I would take them , expecting a little problem from there mother I asked before I did , and was surprised she said yes and make sure they know the Safety rules .. ( duh !! I forgot they are from Texas not Illinois  ) so we went skeet/clay ,rifle shooting they enjoyed themselves greatly . this is the only outside sport that Jeff will participate in ( his mom is happy with that )he wants a shotgun for himself to go practice with (actually I have my grandfathers so I will give him that one :) ) The thing is with them is there mom brought them up right and they are not like the typical kids around today these two say yes or no sir , and know they will get disciplined if they mess up . another thing thing Ashley thinks the car is cool even though all it looks like is the aftermath of a car that ran into a pipe truck . Hmmm..maybe another CAH CHA in the making !

I suppose it's time to give an update on my son Nick (I mean Chris). In the last year, he has taken up guitar. As of last night when I heard him and another guy named Chris jamming in the garage, he has advanced beyond anything I could ever have imagined. He is playing like Zakk Wylde, Eddie Van Halen, Budkethead, Black Sabbath and his own ideas sprinkled all over this stuff. He is awesome. He's using my Fender Twin Reverb amp, which will have to do until I can get him a 100-watt Marshall half-stack...but what is coming out of the Twin Reverb is mind-boggling. Chris set up his drums in there and he comes over a couple nights a week and works out on them. Well, a couple of weeks ago, Nick sat down at the drum kit and started fooling around. Right now as I type this, I'm listening to a full-speed locomotive in there. He is becoming every bit as good on drums as he is on guitar already, and he's only been playing on them for a couple of weeks. He is becoming a complete musician in every sense of the word, and he's doing it all by himself...could be that growing up around me might have rubbed off on him, but the music he's doing is stuff I never dreamed of. He's playing the hardest hardcore with elements of jazz, funk and speed metal thrown in. I gave him my Stratocaster last year when he told me he wanted to play electric guitar. I got him a Boss Metal Zone II pedal, a tuner, some videos, a guitar poster, some strings, and I offered to sit down with him any time. He's only asked me a few things. The rest of it just exploded out of him. When he's not playing music, he's a quiet, softspoken, laid-back kid. I am so blown away by what he's doing I just don't know what else to say. Cheers, WC1
Here's Nick today, playing drums:
