Ise'a be here....(sorta....)........wheeewwww.....L..O..N..G weekend...(hours with no sleep wise).....as it turned out.....the bars were not as bad as Tim had thought...(rust wise).....so there was no sand blasting involved....but there was a LOT of sanding and wire brushing....
When I got to Tim's Friday afternoon (about 2;30 or so)....we unloaded the car and rolled it into the shop to put it on the lift...then totally stripped everything off of the chassis.....rear end...front struts...all steering..everything. I got the steel firewall installed and did some mods to the fuel cell mount (raised it a little....)....and knocked off at about 2;30 a.m. Tim came out pounding on the outter wall of Clyde at close to 9 the next morning...and it was on from there........Jack Curles, a buddy of ours stopped by and grabbed a piece of sand paper and joined in with me scuffin' on the front end bars.....and then we blew the excess dust off and wiped everything down with some white rags soaked in laquer thinner....then primed and painted the front section. Tim was in the back welding lower control arms and such and giving me a hard time about working on a FORD. A told him to "bite me, Chevy Boy"....and he painted a primer stripe across by back (messed up a perfectly good black t-shirt....oh well....it WAS funny....I guess

).......after Jack and I got the front painted...Tim seemed to get motivated.....(I "think" that was motivated, anyway

)
I finished up with the sanding.....and was wiping the bars down with the thinner when Jack came back....and the three of us went to spraying bars...(yes....it was done with rattle can primer and Silver Hammer paint, also from a rattle can.....ok.....Several rattle cans...).....I was kinda in the middle....(I don't think I'll EVER get all this paint and primer outta my hair

).......then I got left alone......"normally" not a good idea

(I "have" been known to procrastinate

)...........but this is MY car we're talkin' 'bout....so I got busy......when I walked out of the shop at 5;45 a.m...., all the interior aluminum is IN...the lumynum firewall cover is IN.......the shifter is IN.....the Switch panel is IN.......
Tim came out and woke me up at about 10 Sunday a.m. and we got back on it hard and heavy........ALL of the front suspension is DONE (complete with brakes, but no lines yet).....ALL of the Steering is DONE....Both pedals are DONE.....the Anti-roll is DONE.......the rear end is DONE....the Master Cutoff Switch is IN......then we set the body back on it and late yesterday afternoon I got the front part of the tubs in.....(they will stay with the chassis now.....)
Tim wants to take the body back off the chassis to do the body work.....Set it back in place to layout any graphics (etc) and then paint everything off the chassis (so it won't be such a cluster-flop to clean up the interior...and we also wont have to worry about taping the interior or masking it...........then.........bolt the body back on and be DONE!!!!.....just waiting for an influx of a few dead presidents to get some more "stuff" that I still need.............
Ahhhhh...More Progress!!......I think I may be getting arroused here.....(or at the very least an adrenalin rush

)....Jack took several pics over the weekend....and said "if" he can figger out how to do it...he'll e-mail 'em to me.....
