Thanks, ProZ...I drove through one of the most violent storms I've ever had the misfortune of getting trapped in while driving today during lunch...but having lived here all my life, I've seen worse. Much worse. This was just a sprinkle compared to some of the tropical depressions, storms and hurricanes that have come through down here. A hurricane isn't thunder and lightning, it's constant wind with huge gusts and sideways rain. Today was non-stop thunder, lightning, torrential downpours, power surges and somewhat minor street flooding compared to what a direct hit from a tropical storm would do. That's great that Cheryl will be there when Jenni has her baby! Perfect karma, man. Sure beats working somewhere for years, getting right up to retirement age, then waiting for the other shoe to fall. I had to go through that also. She's in a better situation now, and having your first grandchild born there is a blessing! Life is good. WC1

Thanks, Doc...Just got back, it was wonderful...we didn't want to come back! I have to mow the front yard in a minute or I'll get a ticket. It's not that bad, but I'm being harrassed by the cops here because I have a rock band (Nick's band, Blastula) practicing in the garage and my neighbors to the South as it turns out have called the cops on one of Kyle's friends for smoking a cigarette on their side of my house. They also accused me of sending rainwater into their yard from my yard, which is absolutely impossible, but they're new here (Chinese) and they actually came over here and inspected my back yard and told me that I'm responsible for their yard flooding up...no way...last time I checked, rain water came out of the sky...but they're not friendly and now I have to keep my yard matching his or the cops leave warnings on my door...life is still good, it's just hotter than hell out there right now...I'll post later about the weekend. It was the honeymoon we missed for 20 years...Cheers, WC1

If your gonna mow the lawn you must not be getting any rain yet? It's been raining fairly steady all day today here.
Glad you had a good time WC. 8)

It didn't rain when I mowed the front lawn, I also trimmed the hedges and I was doing the edges with my cheapo weedeater when it burned up on me...I was using twine on it that was too big and it strained the little electric motor and it went pfoot. No problem, I'll get a good one tomorrow. The lawn looks ticketless anyway...we got rain every day for months now, but it looks like you guys up North are getting what's left of Tropical Storm Erin? That was a nasty little squall...the rain was warm. It wasn't cool and as soon as it would stop, then steam would happen and it was miserable outside...it even rained while the sun was blazing away...I said "Look, the Devil is beating his wife!" Wilfred, the guy I work with said "Wha? Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, dog?" I said "When the sun is shining and it's raining at the same time, that means the Devil is beating his wife." He said "Man, you crazy mofo." Right then, Patti, our new saleslady, came in and exclaimed, "Look, the Devil is beating his wife!" I turned around and looked at Wilfred, and he had this perplexed look... :?
The weekend was wonderful. Friday night was a "slow" night at Club 21, but we did fine. I think Pee Wee might have had a couple of drinks, but he got these folks from Wales up there and I hung out with them and got to chat about how I see Wales and England the same way they see Texas and Louisiana...it's all the UK to me, like it's all America to them, and they agreed, that's how it is...Debby hit it off great with the band and Pee Wee's wife Jerry, Jeff's wife Paula and Clem the sax man as well as Loren the keyboard man. We had an OK room at the Beachcomber. No shower as it turned out, we took baths but we got clean. They didn't have one of those levers that turns the faucet off and kicks the shower in...hmmm...great cable, though. I got to watch qualifying at Reading on ESPN2, also watched "King of the Strip" this morning with Tommy Johnson, Jr. refereeing the 2 teams, a Malibu and a Subaru. Saturday night at Club 21 was an all-out fun-house for hot chicks. We had 'em 12 deep from wall-to-wall, dancing and jumping, bumping and grinding and singing along with the songs we played. It was a wild night. The cops showed up twice and broke up fights, not just at Club 21 but at a couple of other clubs down there. Debby had a great time. We danced during breaks, went to the Deli down the block, walked around holding hands and fell in love all over again. We didn't want to come back. I played inspired guitar all weekend, better than I've ever played with this band, so I guess they're going to expect that from me in the future. I can't shut up about the tone I'm getting with this setup...it is so unique yet when you hear it you know right away what it is. I'm very fortunate to have all that I have. I really couldn't ask for more. Life is good. WC1

Tell JTP thanks for enjoying the tuxedo junction pics...I've never reconed my speakers, I know a lot of folks who do it fairly inexpensevely around here, though. Ronnie at Allen's in the Heights, Bruce and Frances down in Kemah; from what they've shown me, it's a pretty tedious deal and it requires a light touch, some expeience, and patience. Once they start on one, they can't get distracted or get up and do something else, it has to be done in one full session. The glue they use made me woozy, they used a magnifying glass with a fluourescent light, that glue in one of those glue guns, I saw a soldering iron, these little pincers that look like tweezers...and the paper you gotta order somewhere, maybe AllParts.com or something? Cheers, WC1
