What a fun weekend at Thompson for the Gasser Reunion! Perfect weather all 3 days and a record car count. I pitted across the lane from Darryl (23t).

The car ran well. I was in the 8.50's all weekend, with one wild pedalling 8.67 in a slippery lane Saturday evening. Set a new personal and car record of 8.45 in the last qualifying session Saturday night (didn't do me much good on an 8.50 index).

I qualified #4 in 8 cars. I won the first round 8.54 to 8.62 - he got me on the tree by a little bit and beat me to the 300' mark, then I drove around him. I lost a close race in the semi's by less than a car length - 8.56 to 8.51.

Other than a zoomie that wants to keep self-destructing (I welded it up twice this week) and a valve cover gasket that decided to make a mess all over the inside of the engine compartment in the last run, everything's working well on the little beast.

If I can get the covers and the zoomies repaired this week, we'll probably be going to the Nostalgia Wars race at Quaker City this Saturday.

I got the zoomie put back together. I don't know whether it will survive any better or not. We'll see after a few passes...

When the cover gasket let go, it didn't just make a mess in the engine compartment and on the headers. I've got green oil dripping from the read-end and the wheelie bar! Guess I'll be under the car scrubbing this evening

We're heading down to Quaker City tomorrow morning for another Nostalgia Wars race.
