September 2nd 2006 will be a night to remember when Earth Shaking Entertainment brings 8 alcohol funny car MONSTERS to Roxboro Dragway for their Night of Fire. The show will also feature Rich Hanna with his jet funny car to go one on one with "The Godfather" Charlie Gambino in his Alcohol Funny Car for a best 2 out of 3 rematch! The show will also feature drivers with the likes of: Bunny Burkett, Billy Naves and his Shooting Star entry, Tony "mad sceintist" Cannoy, Cecil "Hickory Hicks" Robinson, Lance Van Hauen, Peter Osterio and Delbert "the tree man" white! We hope to see you their when this action kicks off and we bring the Most Electrifying Show on the east coast to Roxboro!

I took a ride out there tonight as the newspaper said there would be a display across from the Library tonight between 4 and 8 PM but there was nothing there.
I can't go back tomorrow, but I might try for Sunday but not sure on that either.

Thats the one thing im looking forward to Rocky..i sure hope its there tomorrow (sat) i have a ton going on but would love to slide through there just to get a gander of that...also the 58 chevy i have been searching for has been found and restored and will be there this weekend..so much for finding it and buying it cheap

one of the car guys at work just found out about it tonight too, I guess it is a lack of "communication" as he knows all the local shows and didin't know anything till one of the other drivers told him .

Oswego Il. Dragway-is where I got my start in "Organized" Drag Racing running my 57 Orange Merc-"The Big Animal". that was July 20th. 1969. See: www.animaljimracing.com and click my career gallery.

Although the track closed at end of 79 season-Oswego Il. Is honoring the memory with a first ever-"Osweg Drag Days" city celebration this weekend. I had people call and tell me that the area papers have pictures of The Big Animal in color and tell how I and others got their start at Oswego Dragway.

I am going to Oswego Il. this evening to help celebrate those wonderful memeories. I hope to see some of my old friends there.
