Got the intercooler mounted finally.
I bent some aluminum strap & made 4 mounts & welded them to the cooler. I probably should have started on somethin' else as my first
aluminum welding project. Oh well, It looks like it'll hold.

I didn't want to solid mount it so I put rubber grommets in them with steel sleeves so I can torque the bold down with squashin' the little buggers.

Got the cold side plumbed to the plastic carb.

If I can get it in N' out without the boot through the firewall I'll weld the 2 pcs. together so I can put a clean lookin' grommet on the firewall.

the coldside is lookin good man, keep up the good work. us boost freaks gotta support each other. :D me and my turbo buddies all joke about who'll wear out thier jackstands first. :lol:

If those are your first aluminum welds Gary you're doing good! My first welds looked more like lumps of aluminum that I tried to smooth out with a cutting torch :lol:

I decided to fab an entire new oil pan for the Donovan - I'll have lot's of practice. :shock:

I'm by no means an aluminum welder, but I was a little surprised that I made the parts stick together. My first thought was to just tack it all together and take it someplace to weld it. I welded some scrap & thought ...nothing ventured nothing gained. :shock: :roll: :D
