Thanks everyone,..well worth the wait,...

I am absolutly overwhelmed and astonished at the amount
of response all of you have givin me,.. this is way cool and the best, well the 2nd best anyhow, moment in my life.
I had no intenet or clue to the bangshift broadcast, nor the rspons and congradts across the web,..thank you all it was a blast, and well worth sticking it out on sunday to do what I want to do best,..thank you I am now very proud of what I have done, accomplished, it wasnt easy but it sure has paid off.

Friday Morning towed to the line in the fog at 8am, I had new slicks on the car and knew that I needed to do a big burnout, along with that there must have been about 50 photographers that wanted to see my car run,....so I rolled threw the box and stopped a moment and then hammerd here down with a couple of quick pedals smoked the crap out the ol hides to about 2-300 foot and stoped just before half track.
I got the car back staged and off I went it was a nice feeling again, but then just pass half track the ass end started to skate around big time and I lifted, moisture everywhere on the track,..ran 5.24 to the eighth,...waited all day to be tolled exhibition cancelled,....

Saturday Morning 7:45,..up to the lines again a little less fog but the humidity was still around 83-85 %,..they matched me against a early to mid 60`s front motored digger that had a coupe body on it and running on Nitro they had him do the burnout before they signaled me to even fire up,.once I did I knew I would rush my burnout gett it stopped and get back as to not keep the other on nitro hanging,..Moderate burnout stopped pretty quick and started going backwards and noticed that I had left about a 12 inch round puddle of fuel from the over flow,..No track guys bothered to get it wipped up so I was left with the thought of ,.fug it I will drive around it,..The car launched hard and I drove a bit out of the groove as to miss the fuel I left on the track, but know I was realizing something wasnt right, and now we are talking mili seconds I got out of it and realized I hadnt shifted, I hammered it back down and shifted second and ran it out the back door at 158mph 8.83,..yea taht wasnt fun...lol
Again sat around all day saturday waiting for the chance to run,..that never happend,...
So now all my testing and tunning was all coming down to sunday,..I was going to run some nitro on sunday if I could get the tune up where I needed it on alky,..never got there, the plugs where still looking new with no heat so I said fug it,.and made my mind up I wasnt going to tip the can,..
So Sunday now,.and I had gone from a 105 to a 115 in the main and decided to take more away and 2 flats out of the barrell,..so now its a 125 in the main,....
we wait and we wait,..and we wait,..and we waited some more,...absolute bullshitty day,..I insisted we stay and just go take a run regauedless of what they were telling us,...by now there were only about 9 out of 3e0 exhibition cars left and when I towed up one by one they followed,..
So blah blah b;lah in the staging lanes and we finally get to run,..Woooooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooo

I was literaly jacked up big time,.....most of you all saw the live stream and saw the pass,..but anyways big big pedal burnout gertting it all crossed up and slide ways out to 150-200 foot,..it was sweet,..I could here the crowed and announcer,..FaaaaaaaaaaaaarRRRRRRR Ouuuuuuuuuuuttttt
I get the car back way behind the lines and do two dry hops, stage the car mash the pedal and hicked the wheels up about
2o inches or so and they must have carried them out past 200 feet (it seemed),...The ol Veneys Vega came back down to earth just intime to grab 2nd and it pulled hard threw the 1/8 running 5.13@135.7, and kept on trucking it was such an awesome feeling, I approuched the finishline and swatted at the chute lever catching it on the 2nd swat just as I went threw the traps. When the chute deployed and blossomed and it was a big tug and I knew from that it was a good run.
Now I hung out all day and I was hoping the vega would run like a .30 maybe a .20. My crew coming from off in the distance was honking yelling and screaming as that got nearer and then I really knew it was a good one,Vince my buddy that was there to help me out jumped from the truck before it stopped , and running up to me saying I went..8.06@165 mph
In a bit of shock, and elation, my first response was to look back up track with both middle fingers in the air
yelling Fuuuuuuuukkkkk,...Yooooouuuuuuuu,..Cackle car my ass,.....lol...This run was what it was all about, and it was fantastic,..Jeff my other crew guy said it carried the wheels along ways and that the crowed went nutty,..what a freaking weekend and all well worth it,.....
I sure would like to see a video if anyone has it,..a link to bangshift that shows my car would be cool too....

My back is killing me and still a bit of driving lagg,..
But thanks again everyone that had their hopes and big proud patts on the back,..It going to sink in for a while....

Out of a box of 1,000 handouts we had givin out a little more than 500 and lots of signitures.
Man what a feeling,..I drained the fuel and cleaned my fuel system out and lubed it for tucking her in and away for winter
I Pulled the plugs today too, and they are just barly showing anyheat,..there is DEFINATLY a 7.80 something in this car on straight alky,...guess we will wait till the march meet.

Thanks again
Vic
