uh-oh my reports late - maybe the teacher will still give me partial credit...

Unfortunately there's nothing to report. It rained.

I didn't even get all the way to the track. I got about 5 miles down the road and it was getting wetter and wetter. I knew one of the guys had left before me and was probably there, so I called him on the cell phone. He said it was pouring and there was mud everywhere. I'd heard enough, I turned the rig around and headed home.

It turns out that they did it dried out enough to run 1 time trial, then it rained, then they dried it and ran the first round, then it rained and they called it. I really didn't need to run that bad...

Oh well - there's a bunch more Saturdays in the summer!

We'll probably try to make it to Thompson in the next couple of weeks.

Dragway 42 in West Salem, OH is having a 1-day nostalgia race on July 22. I haven't decided whether we'll go there or not. I've heard that they resurfaced the track and it's really rough.

Norwalk is running a small, pre-register only, nostalgia race at the Blue Suede Cruise the weekend of July 28. I'm going to sign up for that and go run the 8.60 index class. (Yes 8.60 - the next index down is 9.60, so I'll try to keep up with the big boys)

We still haven't decided whether we are going to the Willys Home Run / Sunday Niagara race in Lancaster, NY the weekend of August 12. The entry form is sitting in front of me...

I went to the first game of Steve's baseball tournament on Saturday. They won, so we had to go back Sunday. They lost that one. Baseball's done - more time for racing 8)

^^

Sometimes I think that may be the way to go. Last week the beavers plugged up the culvert under the driveway - I almost needed a boat to get back to the shop.

Of course it didn't rain when I had to sit through 2 baseball games in the blazing sun

I had a visit from none other than the infamous Bill Pratt last night! He was in the area on his way to the DL Nats and decided to brave the beavers, muskrats, and most of all the mosquitoes to stop by the shop and say hello. It was nice to finally meet the him and his family and chat for a while.
