A while back when Mike was in the middle of the rebuild on this car, we got to talking about it one day and I asked if he'd ever considered doing a chop on it. Turns out he had, and I took the picture I'd already done of the car in FreeHand10 (a "vector" image that I drew) and I did a mild 3" chop on it, to see how it'd look. Well, I thought, OK, it looks good, but before anybody fires up a cutting torch and takes it to that priceless classic, lemme see what a photo of it'd look like with a 3" chop. So I took the photo I drew the picture from and made the chop in a digital photo. Doing the car part of it was challenging, but once the roof was lowered, I had to fix the background in the picture, too...that took longer than the car did! Anyway, here are the 2 pictures...the first is the one I drew, the second is the photo. Mike's not going to have it chopped, at least not in the foreseeable future, but if he ever does, at least he's got a point of reference. I can go back and lower it more but I looked at a 4" chop and it started looking a little bit too much...Here's the 3" chop. Enjoy! WC1

I love the way that came out Cat. I just couldn't bring myself to cut it up just yet. If it ever did come to that, the work involved would be tremendous due to having to cut the cage also. Thanks again for doing that, naturally I have the picture saved for future reference.

We finally got the ATI done Saturday for the 2006 season. Even stayed to watch some racing. Rather cold day, with track temps around 80 - 82 degrees and most of the high H.P. cars couldn't get a bite on the track and blew the tires off every time.

One of our Mike's brought the hood by tonight to make sure it will fit after molding the scoop on. It will be painted and put on the car for the final time on Sunday. Just in time too. We are heading to the track the following Wednesday for some test and tune, and my license upgrade. I'll have a few pictures of the hood in primer in a few minutes.
