Brandon Pierce Heads to Memphis to Rock-N-Roll -- Wally Style

Memphis, Tn -- When most people only know of Memphis, Tennessee for being the home of Legendary King of Rock-n-Roll, Elvis Presley and his home, Graceland, the drag racing community knows it for another reason. It's the home of one of NHRA's Drag Racing facilities, Memphis Motorsports Park, that will have many competitors racing this weekend for the third Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series South Central Division 4 Event. Brandon Pierce, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is one of those competitors.

Pierce, now Race Car Driver that earns his living driving, began bracket racing at the age of 18. He was driving a 1966 Chevy Chevelle and also ran a Super Gas Chevy Monza. During the year 2000, he cross graded his license and moved into a Super Comp Dragster. In 2003, Seeking the next level of competition, he bought an A/Fuel Dragster and completed his license passes in Houston, Texas.

After qualifying in the number one position running a career best of 5.271 at over 269 miles an hour during the second event of the 2007 season at No Problem Raceway, Pierce and his Crew are ready to take their Baby 1 Girl Apparel/Sooner Cabinet and Trim, Inc. sponsored A-fueled dragster to the winners circle at Memphis Motorsports Park seeking his first win of the new season.

"We're really excited to get back out to the track this weekend" notes Pierce "we struggled our first three years of competition and last year our momentum drastically changed when we won Noble and took home our first Wally. That led us to finishing fourth within the Division 4 points standing in 2006 and our first Top 20 finish Nationally that we are hoping for a top 10 finish in 2007".

A Matter of Fact: Did you know that on January 14th, 2007, Brandon was married to the daughter of David and Mary Brounkowski, LeeAnn. The newlyweds reside in Oklahoma City where LeeAnn is a full time student studying Business and Finance. They enjoy 4 wheeling when they are away from the track and frequent an area in Oklahoma called "Little Sahara".

Brandon and LeeAnn would like to thank their Team and their Sponsors for all of their hard work, Steve Powell, Mike Pierce, James Pruett, Mike Taylor, Crew Chief Tinny Pierce, Baby 1 Girl Clothing and Apparel, Sooner Cabinet and Trim, Inc., and Red Rock Racing Fuels of Oklahoma.

I have no idea, all I know is that Brandon and his dad own the car and he's been driving it since licensing in 03.

I don't know any of the other details, I'm just the free freelance writer :D :D

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy,,,and we expected SO much more from you!

I really don't know any details. I know he went to Topeka last year after he parked his AA/FA. I am pretty sure he drove, and was supposed to this year. It could be a different car, or maybe the driving gig was only part time or something. I would have to guess it is the same Jim P. from Okla though.
