Well. I have not had the time to look through all the tech questions, so I apoligize, in advance, if this has already been addressed.

Well, I've picked up a total of 3 blocks from other racers that my pops knows. They all said, "Yeah. The block will pass the pressure test and line bore test." None the less, none have passed. Now they're talking about just cemeting the hole in the first block that I was supposed to use to race. The hole is in one of the passages, and it is completely visible to the naked eye. It's a purdy damn big hole, if you ask me.

Now here is my question... Will the block still be as strong as it once was? Obviously, the hole makes the block weak, and not functionable, but will the cemet cure this problem and make it "back to normal" again?

Any input in appreciated! I'm just trying to decide if I need to dig into my savings and buy a new block and try it again with the line bore and pressure testing, or if I should let them cemet the block back to normal.

If it's just a water jacket that isn't a major structural part, you're probably ok.

That is EXACTLY where it is. It's in the water passage, so water was diluting the oil and what not. Thanks for the input!!!

Gas or Alky?

Right now... We have her on Alcohol. But if we continue to have consistency issues like in the pass, we'll switch her to gas.

Your consistency issue is cause your off on the tune up. Prob too lean.Whats the setup? pump gpm(flow),nozzle,main,engine size,gear,tire,K-valve?timing,comp,stage rpm,leak,butterfly clearance,idle rpm.

I have to agree with Leon on your consistancy issue. I actually found that alcohol was much more consistant when I switched from gas way back when.

I would not run that block if it were up to me. I wouldn't risk putting any money into it knowing it has a defect in it.
If your patch should leak water into the oil, even a small amount, how many $$$ in good parts will it cost you?
There is also the safety question of putting a rod out of it and oiling the track and skating in your own oil and water.
Been there, done that, and it is not any fun.

Running on alcohol,does she need to add water at all?
