TheMusic.com/The Who Top Alcohol Funny Car Team of Nancy Matter will be competing at the Toyo Tires NHRA National Event in Maple Grove Raceway in Reading this weekend.

"Our team is really excited to have the opportunity to get back out this weekend at the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals. Last weekend we had a failed torque wrench on the second qualifier which caused us to break on the burnout and on our third attempt, the car was on a mid 70 pass in the heat of the day when inadvertently, the bottom left valve cover nut loosened and sprayed just enough oil on the left rear tire that ultimately forced the run to be aborted" notes Matter.

Nancy would like to thank Tom Conway for his continued support and her crew: Jeremy Mitchell, Chris Collins, Eugene Rowson and Ryan Matter.

The 17th National Event of 23 within the NHRA Powerade Series kicks off on Friday, August 17th, with two rounds of qualifying at 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. for the Alcohol Class. Qualifying resumes on Saturday, August 18th, at 1:00 p.m. followed by first round of eliminations at 4:15 p.m. Final Eliminations begin on Sunday, August 19th, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. For all the latest udates and racing results, log on to www.dracecentral.com presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030.

Congrats on the big 250, Nancy. I just drove through PA and it was raining the whole time, so I knew that the Maple Grove event couldn't have finished. bp

Thanks so much for the kind words.

In a kinko's right now, kind of hard to win a round when Marty went a career best, but so did we. Clutch got hot at starting line and I ended up deep staged, so most likely, a 77 / 78 pass.

We're finally getting there and we're really stoked about it.

We're off to Bowling Green Tomorrow and then Indy. I'll get to a computer as much as I can, but it may be a few days.

I hope you all are doing fantastic, and talk to you soon.

Nancy
