I guess you'd have to have lived in Houston for a number of years to feel the loss of Ron Stone. In all our major cities, the TV anchorman becomes one of your family...your friend, your informant, your connection to the world around you. Ron Stone made Houston his home and he was a part of all of our homes. His friendly, easy-going manner and the way he told stories made him a unique and beloved personality in this town. He never turned down a good cause. He was always there, teaming up with the other TV station guys to pull together for a common good. He helped create and produce "The Eyes Of Texas" with Ray Miller, a weekly TV show about the limitless fascinating features, events and history of Texas. I own 5 of the books, "The Eyes Of Texas Travel Guide" that he researched and helped bring to the world. Farewell to a great American, a great Texan, and a great Houstonian. Ron Stone's memory will live on. WC1
