Long-time Wildcat friend, bass player for the band in 2001, Unocal employee for 35+ years and all-around wonderful human being. He was found in his apartment last week, he died suddenly and no cause has been established. Bubba was a guy who everybody that knew him loved him. He was upbeat, happy-go-lucky and an excellent musician. He played the Red Adair benefit for the Firefighters of New York with The Wildcats (conceptualized and coordinated by Jim Shortt) in October, 2001. I have never known a musician with a better attitude and adaptable style. Godspeed, Bubba. Jam on in Heaven. WC1

Welcome, Jed, and I want you to know that you and your family have my deepest condolences. There was only one Bubba Frederick. He was a great, great person and I enjoyed playing with him immensely. I will never forget my friend, and I am sure glad to see that you are rocking in his footsteps. God Bless. John Bockelman "WildcatOne".
