This is probably a STOOOOOOPIDquestion but..

Can you use steel braided -AN hose and fittings from your tranny to your cooler or does line pressure dictate hard lines?
What kind of pressure numbers do those lines see?

Is there a difference in line pressure with manual valve bodies and trans. brakes?

As I am sure you all have read, I am planning on purchasing a trans from Pro-60.. Yes, the man with the gorgeous yellow Bel-Air, A man of un-equalled intelligence and skill... Truely, a national treasure.. (is the price going down at all Mike?)

Obviosly, I have never even used a trans brake and I want to make sure my new little TCI gem stays witin her ioerating temperature.

What do y'all think?

Yes you can use steel braided line. However you will need to adapt the fitting from the trans to a male flare. I don't remember what the trans has for fittings, but the are something a little different.

But, yes your steel braided lines will work. You must run a cooler on the trans anyway. Especially with a loose converter as it builds a bunch of heat on the street.

Moroso has a real trick looking finned aluminum one. Mount it so air can get to it.

Your right on that one Randy, a loose convertor on the street will build tremendous heat in the summer in stop and go. There are some real neat coolers out there as Rapid said, a buddy of mine has a pro/st 66 nova, he has one of those aluminum tube looking coolers with the fins about 2ft long under the car with braided lines, looks nice and cools too.

we use a b and m with a fan and temp switch built in on street car works great. we also use braided lines got the fittings from local parker hose fittings store..

The price won't go down, but the extra's keep piling up. Did I mention the cooler that goes with the tranny? You have two to chose from. One is a TCI # 823500, and the other is a Perma-Cool # 1023. They have the AN fittings on them so you can run braided lines to them without using adapters. The heat build-up while using a tranny brake is 100 degrees per second which is why an overflow tank is a must. No, I don't have an extra one of those. BTW, the line pressure is minimal.
