Sonny DeCesaris

Postby Jack Redd » Tue Aug 04, 2009 11:59 pm

Sonny passed the "finish line of life" this pass Tuesday (8-3-09) He was co-builder and co-owner of Cecil County Dragway built in the early 60's
along with in brother-in-laws, Hugo & Ebby Procopio.
Sonny, Hugo & Ebby also ran Capitol Raceway in Crofton, Md. in the 60's & 70's along with Promoter Julio Marra
They all started out in drag racing helping Al & Rose Procopio & family run Aquasco Speedway back in 1957. He was also owner of one of the largest home building companies in the U.S. His son Marco DeCesaris still races and collects race cars. He son Joe runs the drag racing oriented restaurant, the Philly Flash in Annapolis, Md.
My prayers and thoughts go out to his family.
RIP my old friend.
