Edmond Thorne lost his life Saturday at Houston Motorsports Park when his nitrous-assisted truck lost some fluids at 500 feet, went out of control, hit the right wall and then went back across the track and hit the ambulance access opening just past the traps. He was competing in the MLK shootout, an event that features Outlaw 10.5 cars, bracket cars and motorcycles. His truck was a 6-second runner on the eigth-mile track. He was airlifted to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. So sorry to lose a good man. Race on in heaven, Edmond. WC1
