A giant of the sport that I was proud to have met. And a DC area neighbor. My condolences to Malcolm's friends and family. BP

Bill, we were discussing how old Malcolm is. Do you, or anyone else know his age ? Thanks.

I'm guessing mid to late 60s or early 70s, but I don't know for sure. bp

He was an icon back in the days .. Aquasco, Capitol, 75-80, MIR among many others. A true pioneer and a real family man. May his legacy live on.

I went to Malcolm's funeral yesterday. It was very nice. About 200 people were there. The eulogy included a nice history of his racing efforts. Other racing types there were Tom Sneden and his wife, Dickie Estevez and his wife, Julio Maras and his new wife, Marco DeCesaris, editor/promoter Jack Redd, photographer Francis Butler, and most of the members of the Quartermasters drag racing club. Rain and flooding probably kept more racers away, plus the fact that Malcolm's heyday was before the modern TV era. Many of his friends there were amazed to hear what an impact he had on the sport. Talked with his son Bernard, who is putting together a state of the art Wally Stroupe Pro Mod 68 Camaro, for which Rod Burke is designing a paint scheme to look like Malcolm's 68 Camaro funny car. Too bad we can't talk Bernard into a classic FC. Bernard checks in at draglist.com often. I'll see if I can get him on the message board. We did our best to talk the boys into bringing their mom up to the York US 30 show in two weeks. This is a family that is extremely proud of and attached to their drag racing roots. It was an honor for me to be there. bp
