YORK US 30 DRAGWAY BLAST FROM THE PAST #007 VHS - #007B DVD BEE ON VIDEO is proud to announce the release of a new movie production that looks at the history of the York US 30 Dragway in York, Pa. The track opened in the 1950's and we have some vintage movie footage of old hot rods running at York. The production progresses through the 1960's when York first began running four cars at a time on the track. We also have some rare footage of Richard Petty and his 43 Jr. car making a pass at York. No visit to York would be complete without mentioning the greatest one day independent drag race of all time the 1965 Super Stock Magazine Super Stock Nationals. I have included some new footage of this race and you will hear from the winners: Bill Lawton, Bud Faubel, George Weiler and Bob Harrop. Next you will see footage of the 1969 Super Stock Magazine Super Stock Nationals and hear Bruce "USA 1" Larson talk about his victory over Dick Harrell in the Funny Car final. Our next event is a special Funny Car Match Race that was held in April of 1970 and you'll see: Bruce Larson, Arnie Beswick, Malcolm Durham, Charlie Allen, and Marv Eldridge among others. Naturally I have dubbed real car sounds on the footage so you really get the feel of the race. We also have some footage from a 1970 WCS points meet at the track and you see a variety of cars in all categories. Once again we visit the 1970 Super Stock Magazine Super Stock Nationals with some new footage of the race. There are several cars in this segment that I had not seen before. Great stuff! Our final segment in the production is a visit to the 1970 NHRA Summer Nationals at York. This was the very first NHRA Summer Nationals meet and over 45,000 spectators turned out to see this fantastic group of cars. You will see cars in Top Fuel, Top Gas, Pro Stock, Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Modified Eliminator, Super Stock, and Stock Eliminator. We show you the complete first round in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock. This segment runs about forty five minutes and is jam packed with color and excitement. The Top Fuel Championship was won by "Sneaky" Pete Robinson and his SOHC Ford powered rail. This would turn out to be Pete's last championship as he was killed in a racing accident at the 1971 Winter Nationals at
Pomona, Ca. I can't begin to list all the cars that you will see in this production but I bet it is well over a thousand. I have also taken the time to research the events that are pictured and I try to report them as accurately as possible. This tape runs for one hour and fifty two minutes. If you have enjoyed our other movie productions I am sure you will enjoy this one also. Order your copy now! |
