Dobbo Does It!

Here is a movie for your movie of the week section. It was taken at the Kwinana Motorplex, Western Australia, on the 10/11/2001. The feature of the night was the "Greene Machine" Nitro Funny Car, owned by Allan Greene and driven by Allan Dobson AKA Dobbo in a match race against the Pennzoil Top Fueler of Robin Kirby. It was great night of racing. The FC took the first round, with a personal best 5.44 defeating Kirby's 1000' shut off 5.82. 

The next round, the FC won again, this time with a 5.58 @ 277 mph as Kirby smoked the tires. The last round, Kirby had a new bullet, but an electrical problem stopped him from starting. Would the Greene Machine slack off? No way! He goes out and runs a personal best ET and MPH with a 5.41 @ 282 mph. This I believe makes Dobbo the fifth quickest FC driver outside North America, and the second fastest. Incidentally, the fastest FC outside North America is another West Aussie, Lloyd Jones, who ran 283 mph!
