HOT HOT HOT was the order of the day with even hotter runs to follow. I was there amongst many others braving the heat and humidity that Southern New Jersey is famous for. I had my trusty box stock Nikon Coolpix 990 clicking away all day at some of the finest Nostalgia drag cars ever assembled.

Some of the event highlights included an amazing car show, appearances by the great Bruce Larson in his even more amazing ‘68 Camaro Funny Car, Lou Sgro and his pair of amazing vehicles, with a slew of altereds, Super Stockers, and Front Engine Dragsters to complete the lineup.

Steve Nichols took it away from Rob Bruce in the “Nitro Wars.” Bruce also had a very WILD ride after his burnout by putting the Zombie on two wheels! The "Mill Road Boys” were in the 6.70 range with their entry.

In BB/FC action, the "Black Magic" flopper piloted by Lou Sgro took the win from Joe Jacono's "Rollin' Stoned" entry in round one with a 6.68 which was also low E.T. of the day. Sano ran 6.81 in round one and went for a solo ride in round two. Chuck Exton DNF after engine damage sadly put him on the trailer for the event.

Keith Davidson won both matches against Jerry Smith with 7.80 followed by a 7.78 in the mighty small block powered "Bits n Pieces" Camaro Funny Car. The Alcohol Guys were tuned in, too! Sano took the win over Keith with 6.80 pass to Keith's 7.76 run!
