41st Annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals - Part 1

Top Fuel Tony Schumacher won the event and the Championship for 2005.

Super Stock Chuck Rayburn qualified #2 in his bitchen '64 Belvedere.

Pro Stock Bike winner Ryan Schnitz wins the double red light Final Round against Andrew Hines by .001 second!

Pro Stock winner Jeg Coughlin qualified 5th with a 6.704 sec 205.79 mph pass. Jeg had an easy Final Round win when Tom Martino red lighted.

Dale Pulde ran a 5.009 sec 302.08 mph, the car's best pass yet, but couldn't make the quickest Funny Car field in NHRA history.

Bill Pitts' Magicar AA/FD is an excellent example from the Golden Age of Drag Racing. Several front engine dragsters were on hand thrilling the crowd with the popular Cacklefest.

Super Comp winner Rick Beckstrom wins a double breakout Final Round against Kevin Kleineweber.

Top Fuel David Grubnic qualified 12th with a 4.543 sec 327.51 mph at Pomona. David lost in Round Two to Brandon Bernstein.

Super Stock winner was Gary Stinnett in his GT/AA '92 Camaro.

Ron Capps came within 8 points of winning the Funny Car Championship.
