Econo funny cars used to be common in drag racing but now are practically extinct. They fell out of favor due to weight, vision problems, and cost. The Lou Patane Vega funny car was the little brother to Johnny Loper's "Lil Hoss." The car ran in the econo altered Comp class. Lou Patane went on to build a shorty T/F and a dual engine TA/D, but he was most famous for being Mopar's head of drag racing.
