In 1985, Dal Denton raced this clean, Donovan powered Camaro and won the Division 4 championship. The car ran a best of 6.43, which was great by 1985 standards. Denton raced this Camaro for only a year, when he replaced it with a more modern Trans Am. In 1987, Dal forsook the Donovan for a BAE/KB Hemi. In 1988, Denton won the IHRA World Championship. Growing costs forced him to park his own car and Dal became a hired driver. Dal has raced off and on for the last 17 years in the US and Europe, including stints behind the wheel of fuel funnies and jets. Denton now drives the second Simpson Racing AA/Funny Car in match races.
