Up & Away!

Before Gary Ormsby became a nationally known Top Fuel owner and racer, he partnered with other racers in a number of cars. Ed Wilson had run his series of “Battleborn” fuelers on the West Coast before teaming up with Ormsby. The team was best known for a couple of things, one was this wheelstand at Indy and the other was being the quickest DNQ at the time with a 5.79 pass. Wilson soon retired from racing, while Ormsby went on to become one of the best Top Fuel racers of the eighties, including winning the 1989 NHRA championship.
