Myers facing Brown in the third round. Brown ran 4.08 and Myers ran 184!
Jeremy Brown swept Thomas Myers three straight in the featured match race at Redline Raceway on July 22, 2006. The teams were the two most recent winners on the Texas Outlaw Pro Mod Association series this year. Jeremy Brown in Mike Callanga's "Twisted Lemon" 63 Corvette had won the monthly Pro Mod race at Texas Raceway at Kennedale. Thomas Myers in the "Tom Slick" Firebird had won the week before at Houston.

This was billed as a Nitrous vs. Blown shootout. Brown took the first round with an amazing 4.08 at 176.13 in the heat of the setting sun. Myers trailed with a 4.34, 164.59. Jeremy Brown shut off a little early in the second round when he got crossed up, but not before he ran a 4.11 at 171.62 to defeat Myers’ improving 4.20 at 170. Brown's tuner Charles Wooten reported that Brown shut 3.7 seconds into the run. Brown had already won the match race, but both racers came back for bragging rights in the third round. Brown took the third race, 4.08 at 174 to Myers’ 4.17 and a booming 184.44.

Thomas Myers ran 184.44 on a 4.17 pass.
The fans went wild over the final run as did the crews of both teams. The 184.44 pass set a new track record at Redline Raceway. This made the third straight weekend that Myers has gone 180 plus in a nitrous car. Only Jim Halsey has gone faster in a nitrous car in the eighth mile with a 184.55 pass. Congrats go out to both teams for the great show.

Perry Dunn ran 4.20 in testing but broke on his only run.
Perry Dunn and Heath Harvey were out testing their Pro Mods Saturday night at Caddo Mills. Dunn got in one run. After a killer burnout, he drove the Thunder Chicken to a super 4.20 at 171. The run was not without damage as parts breakage lead to a small cleanup of oil on the track. The breakage was enough to end Perry's night.
|
Heath Harvey in the Thomas Motorsports Grand Am broke on its only pass.
Heath Harvey had similar luck in his only run after some time off. The Harvey and Thomas team had an oil leak right off the line, causing Heath to shut off. The leak was also bad enough to put the team out for the night.

Kenny Esner's King of the Hill Outlaw 10.5 Corvette ran 4.84.
Two 10.5 racers also tested at Redline. King of the Hill Outlaw 10.5 racer Kenny Esner made several runs in his new 06 Corvette, running a best of 4.84.

Mike Graham's new Limited Street 10.5 Camaro.
Mike Graham was out with a new late model Limited Street Camaro. The primo new car had some teething problems, but Graham ran a 5.28 pedaling run on real 10.5 tires.

Keith Mawhee in the Capp's Rental E/AA Cavalier ran 5.11.
Keith Mawhee tested his E/AA Cavalier sponsored by Capps Rentals. The screaming little small block ran 5.11 at the Mills.
