Q&A with Redline Raceway’s Jerry Goss

By Danny and Gena White

Jerry Goss with Wild Wild Wes Johnston

At the last Outlaw Top Sportsman race of the year, we had the chance to talk with Jerry Goss, the manger of Harry Hronas’ Redline Raceway. In a small break in the action, we got in a few questions with the boss.

Draglist.com: What did you think about the year?

Jerry Goss: Gas prices hurt car counts at the first of the year. As the prices went down and people adjusted to the prices, more racers came out. The Test & Tune was up this year, while the bracket fields were about the same.

Draglist.com: What was the biggest thing that happened this year at Redline Raceway?

Jerry Goss: The spectator counts being up along with the continued racer support.

Draglist.com: What are the plans for next year?

Jerry Goss: We plan on having more big money bracket races next year and more cars. We plan on expanding the pit space next so that the cars can park safely. We plan on running index classes at Redline Raceway that are becoming popular. We are looking to create more new classes like the 9 inch Madness class we came up with that other tracks have picked up also.

Draglist.com: What the run of the year at Redline Raceway?

Jerry Goss: Bobby Booth’s 3.99, 181 run at the last TOPMA race.

Draglist.com: What are plans to make Redline Raceway better?

Jerry Goss: Redline Raceway is trying to buy five more acres off the end of the track and expand the shutdown area by 1000 feet.

Draglist.com thanks Jerry Goss for taking the time to talk with us. We also thank Harry Hronas and the Redline Raceway for the excellent racetrack and facilities. We hope for continued success in 2007 for the Redline Raceway team.
