Figspeed Becomes Primary Sponsor of Top Comp in Division 6

SUMNER, Wash. (March 14, 2005) – NHRA Division 6 Director Mike Rice announced speed and marine parts provider Figspeed as the new sponsor for the Top Comp category for the 2005 season.

The Figspeed Top Comp class will award the category champion a $3,000 bonus at the end of the season, along with $1,500 to the runner-up and $500 to the third place participant.

This is the first time Figspeed has participated in an official sponsorship program with the NHRA.

“Top Comp is the fastest growing class in Division 6 and it’s wonderful to be able to reward the racers with such a great program,” Rice said. “Figspeed helps our racers with parts and technical knowledge. They are very involved with drag racing and for them to get on board and start a sponsorship program that will further help the racers get excited about Top Comp is a win-win situation for all of us.”

B&M Performance also will be sponsoring a qualifying program for the Figspeed Top Comp racers. One lucky qualified driver will earn a $100 bonus at each Division 6 event. Once qualifying is finalized, a drawing will determine the $100 bonus winner.

Les Figueroa, owner of Figspeed, is excited about the program as well.  “The sportsman racers have always been great supporter of Figspeed, so it’s nice to be able to give them something back and this program will be a great way to do that,” Figueroa stated.
