FEDs and Funny Cars Visit Lagrange Dragway

Southern Slingshots teams made a big impact on the local crowd with a match race at LaGrange-Troup County Dragway in June. The smell of VHT, tire rubber, and spent methanol filled the Georgia air as Nostalgia dragsters made heads up, down to the wire runs.

Not to be outdone, the funny cars of Ernie Walker and Red Coleman thrilled the crowd with their tire smoking antics and hard passes. No electronics here, only off the line, may the best driver win.

John Ring and Ed Fargo battled it out all afternoon with several runs decided by only a few thousands of a second. All this was a prelude to a July 24 race with a full field.
