Lex Joon in his MPM Oil Avenger in the right lane, racing against John Spuffard in the Ford Mustang (ex-Tony Pedregon body). Lex Joon's car erupts in a huge fireball as he approaches the finish line with the Fire and Safety Team quickly on the scene. Meanwhile John Spuffard sets a national speed record of 272.03 mph at the 2003 All-star Nationals, Shakespeare County Raceway, Warwickshire, England. The two photos show the state of the Funny Car body after the fire.
