The Long & Short of It

In the days of weight break Pro Stocks,
you would get interesting match ups like this: a long wheelbased Camaro
facing a short wheelbased Monza. Here we have the nationally ranked
Yuill Bros. taking on a young Harold Martin in the Little Kim Monza. You could have big blocks taking on small blocks under a confusing and ever-changing set of rules. There also was a great distance between the haves and have nots in Pro Stock racing. That, along with the emerging popularity of IHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stocks, helped to end the days of weight break Pro Stocks by the end of the 1981 season.
