Pairings Set for Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Mid Michigan
STANTON, Mich. (July 11, 2009) – The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series takes over Mid Michigan Motorplex for a jam packed two day event. The race is the fourth of six on the division calendar and will feature drivers in eight categories vying for points leading to divisional and national championships. Final qualifying is complete and the pairings are set for Sunday’s eliminations.
Bruno Massel of Woodbridge, Ill., grabbed the No.1 qualifying position in Comp Eliminator. The West Central division racer has picked up two divisional wins so far this season including a win last month at Route 66 Raceway.
Other top qualifying times were posted by Rich South, Pataskala, Ohio, in Super Stock and Dave Campolito out of Salem, Ohio, in Stock Eliminator. The Dart Top Sportsman No.1 qualifier was Ricky Adkins, Milan, Mich., and Mark Harmon from Sunman, Ind., lead the Spitzer Race Cars Top Dragster class running just under 200 mph.
Racing continues Sunday with gates opening at 8 a.m. Eliminations will begin at 9 a.m.
