San Antonio IHRA Nitro Jam Friday

For the third straight year, San Antonio Raceway played host to the new IHRA Nitro Jam, presented by CarSafe and Good Vibrations Motorsports. The previous two years have seen historic crowds on hand for this event, and this year is no exception with the return of ‘Top Fuel’ dragsters to the racing card battling on the ¼ mile.
On hand is the new orange livery of Bruce Litton, who has seen his share of ups and downs on this track, with several wins to his credit as well as destroying a racecar after blowing a tire going through the traps. Litton will face off against, young upstart Kyle Wurtzel in his 300mph Dragster.
Included in the Nitro Jam format was the Amsoil Prostalgia Funny Cars, Fuel Altereds, Nitro Harleys, jet-powered Dragsters, Funny Cars and “Super Shockwave” truck along with the Chevy Rebellion “wheelstander” of Richard Hutchins.
Sportsman racers have a big weekend as well with qualifying for the Summit Series Pro-Am Friday night between Nitro Jam rounds. Saturday begins early for Sportsman racers with eliminations beginning after time trials and final rounds tentatively scheduled between Saturday’s Nitro Jam rounds. Sunday is a full slate for Sportsmen racing only with a complete show on tap in all classes.(Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod, Hot Rod, ET Box, ET No-box and three Jr. Dragster classes)
