Rain Halts Finals At TAO Race

Chris Smith was in his second final round of the year in the rain shortened Texas Automatic Outlaw race at Houston Motorsports Park, in which he and "Cowboy" Woods split the purse. Smith's previous final was at the season opener race at Houston Motorsports Park held in March when he defeated Eric Clark.
Ten race teams made their bid for the eight car field up with Chris Smith leading the field with 4.11 followed by E. Hickel 4.28, Chris Domino 4.33, "Cowboy" Woods 4.48, Richard Willett 4.74, P. Branor 4.74, Darren Inman 4.84 and Eric Stubbs 5.19, DNQ David Sangster 5.38 and Louis Hildalgo 6.81 . Eric Stubbs broke so David Sangster was inserted in Stubbs' place.

Rain forced cancellation of the finals, Chris Smith and "Cowboy" Woods split the purse. Texas Automatic Outlaw Series will next be in action Saturday April 21 North Star Dragway in Denton, Texas.
