Texas Raceway: TOPMA, June 12

TOPMA only got one round of qualifying in Friday night before the lightning show (and what a lightning show it was.) In case you missed it, here's how the guys did in first round qualifying:

#1 Frankie Taylor - 3.885 at 194 mph
#2 Gaylen Smith - 3.929 at 190 mph
#3 Ken Thomas - 4.130 at 181 mph
#4 Gene Hector - 4.141 at 177 mph
#5 David Baldwin - 4.338 at 163 mph
#6 Jackie Deaver - 4.491 at 161 mph
#7 Chuck Nuytten - 4.634 at 142 mph
#8 Steve Gorman - 7.154 at 62 mph
#9 Heath Harvey - 9.952 at 52 mph
#10 Steve Wiley - NT

Not sure why Steve got NT but that's what my paperwork says. He must have left before the tree activated. I know he was driving Jimmy Hector's '63 Vette (for the first time).

Just to let the drivers know, we will be giving 10 points to those who showed up and attempted to qualify for this race. The race has been resceduled for June 26, 2009, at Texas Raceway.
