John Montecalvo Wins Sunoco Pro Stock Shootout

NORWALK, Ohio. - Clay Millican was the quickest Top Fuel qualifier at the IHRA Sunoco World Nationals at Norwalk Raceway Park. Millican, Drummonds, Tenn., ran 4.766 seconds, 316.01 mph.

Other number one professional qualifiers include Mike Janis, Lancaster, N.Y., in Pro Modified; Doug Vancil, Albuquerque, N.M., in Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson; Dale Brand, Sully, Iowa, in Funny Car; and Chris Holbrook, Livonia, Mich., in Sunoco Pro Stock.

John Montecalvo won the $50,000 Sunoco Pro Stock Shootout by defeating Doug Kirk.

Final eliminations are scheduled for Sunday at Noon. The Sunoco World Nationals is the ninth stop on the twelve-race Hooters IHRA Racing Series.

NORWALK, Ohio -- First-round pairings for professional eliminations Sunday for the 25th annual Sunoco World Nationals presented by Ethanol at Norwalk Raceway Park, the ninth of 12 events in the Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series. Pairings based on results in qualifying, which ended Saturday.
