Dorchester, SC (June 16) - One day after winning the Draglist.com Southern Fuel Coupes race at Wilkesboro North Carolina, Keith Floyd made the trek down to Dorchester Dragway in South Carolina to repeat the feat. Floyd again was married to low 4.50-second elapsed times and again honeymooned in the winner's circle.

Five Draglist.com Southern Fuel Coupes made the trip to Race # 4 on the 2002 schedule. This gave Keith Floyd a first round bye run. Despite the sure win, Keith nailed a superb 4.511 ET to show the troops that he meant business.

Don Roddy and his "All Girl Crew" then took a close one from Harold Barnhart, 4.804 to 4.940. Three-time series champ Jim Dickey finished the round by defeating Jerry Davis in the Carolina Wildman Trans Am, although neither racer received times.

Keith Floyd kicked off round two by defeating an incredibly consistent Don Roddy. The yellow Pro Mod shut down the yellow funny car, 4.536 to 4.804.

In another recurring role from Wilkesboro, Harold Barnhart made it to round two by running the quickest losing time of round one. Jim Dickey ended Harold's day there, however, as the My Favorite Charity blown altered lead through the lights by half a second, 4.508 to 5.055. Dickey's time was Low ET of Eliminations.

Just as they had the night before in Wilkesboro, Keith Floyd's "Blown By You" '63 Corvette Pro Modified lined up against 1999, 2000, and 2001 Southern Fuel Coupes champion Jim Dickey. And just as he did the night before, Floyd took out the supercharged ‘23-T, this time with a 4.544 to Dickey's close 4.601.

With half the 2002 schedule in the books, the team of Jimmy Walton and Keith Floyd is looking to unseat Jim Dickey from his traditional Southern Fuel Coupes championship throne.

The Draglist.com Southern Fuel Coupes race next at Cooper River Dragway on July 6. For more information, log on to www.southernfuelcoupes.com.
