In the days of the big 4 in NHRA Pro Stock of Glidden, Shepherd, Iaconio, and Johnson, the rest of the field had to fight it it out to see who was the best of the rest. The Indiana based team of Albert Clark and Don Coonce was a perennial top ten team in the mid eighties with their series of GM Pro Stockers. The Strange Engineering sponsored Firebird in the photo was from 1983.
