This year women are having a banner year in the Pro classes, but let us flash back to the first NHRA national event winner. Shirley Shahan was the the first woman to win an NHRA national event at the 1966 Winternationals. She is pictured in one of her later cars, a factory backed AMX. Shahan raced Pro Stockers into the early seventies before retiring.
