Jean Muntifering was the first econo altered in the eights with the Muntifering's Madness Bantam. Jean set the NHRA National Record of 8.965 ET on May 6, 1977, at OCIR Winston World Championship Series points meet. The car was built by Earl Williams with an engine by Larry Ofria and featured a killer Bill Carter paint job from a Kenny Youngblood design.
