| David Janes began racing XTF in the middle of the year. He went out in the first round in the battle of the belts at Ennis. |
The season ending Battle of the Belts was one to remember at the Texas Motorplex. In a battle of no rules with the equalizer being the 10.5 inch wide tire. The field was balanced with nitrous, blown, and turbo combos being run.

In the finals it would be sure that a Texan would come away the 2007 Extreme 10.5 champion. Ironic was the finalists’ battle last year for the 2006 Outlaw Top Sportsman Championship up to the last race. Both racers have engine built by Hans Fuestal. The race was anticlimactic as Wilson had problems starting her Firebird with several fireballs coming forth from the car. This allowed Gorman to single for the win and the championship, Gorman had problems on the run shaking and getting up on the wheelie bars breaking the tires loose. Gorman ran a 4.69 on the run. H.T. Wilson, the husband of Michelle, said the problem with the car was a part on the crank trigger broke on the run. HT added it was good that it did it then instead of during the run, which could have caused serious damage to the engine. Steve Gorman was very proud for the win and glad the luck went his way tonight.
