| Dennis Radford's AAR Cuda was a very popular winner, running a 4.00 best. |
Dennis Radford slapped a holeshot on his boss Billy Harper in the battle of the Mopars. Radford advanced to the next round. Second alternate Tim Soloella entered the field when Rex Kelly broke and first alternate Charles Carpenter could not make the call. Soloella took out the Iceman Shannon Jenkins with his old car with a 4.109 to Jenkins in and out 4.260. Texas quickest nitrous racers was next, Doug Riesterer won with a 4.008 to beat Thomas Myers close 4.063. In the showing of good sportsmanship of the weekend, Kenny Rucker waited on Terry Murphy to get his car started. Murphy took the win with a 4.126 when Rucker had backfire about 200 feet out.

| Stan Allen beat Rod Houck in the first round 4.07 to 4.18. |
The shocker of the first round happened when Burton Auxier ran his first three with a great 3.99 to beat low qualifier Jim Halsey who ran a 4.04. Stan Allen drove the Bankston Boys Camaro beat Rod Houck ‘s Corvette 4.072 to Houck’s off pace 4.180. The 2007 champ Jamie Hancock took out the 2006 champion Keith Baker 4.055 to 4.075 in the next pair. Johnny Pilcher ran a 4.048 to beat Steve Vick’s 4.152.

Burton Auxier attempt at a second three fell short when he shut off to a 4.307 147.29, Radford ran a good 4.044 for the win. In the battle of the Bankston Boys’ Camaros , Tim Savell won with a best ever run of 4.051 to the red lighting Stan Allen. Doug Riesterer unloaded low elapsed time of the race with an awesome 3.969 181.14 to beat the great 4.004 of Johnny Pilcher. Terry Murphy ruined Hancock’s chance at a double win with a 4.066 181.27 win to the out of the grove 4.448 of Hancock.

Dennis Radford beat Doug Riesterer for the second night in a row 4.010 183.07 to Doug crossed up 5.320 99.68. Tim Savell pulled off another upset when Terry Murphy ran a shut off 5.671 84.33 to Savell’s 4.083 179.97.

The finals Dennis Radford beat the alternate Tim Savell with a great 4.04. Soloella got crossed up on the run allowing Radford to pass him in the orange Cuda.
