The Pink Vette

Steve Group first rose to prominence as the owner and builder of the Moody Blues Opel funny car. The little Opel just happened to be street legal with a blown alcohol 392 Chrysler! Steve later took to the asphalt with a vengeance. He was a top finisher in Division Three each year. Group built this pink Top Alcohol Funny Car in 1984 in his shop. Then, while enjoying a great 1985 season, he crashed the car in Columbus. It was a strange turn of events. Despite the crash, 1985 was perhaps the best season in Steve's career, as he hit several 6.30 elapsed times.  How well he would have finished had he not crashed will have to remain unknown. Group returned in 1986 with a new car.
