Scott Kalitta ran away with the Top Fuel trophy. Scott's "slowest" Eliminations lap was 4.498 sec 328.54 mph.

Top Alcohol Funny Car Mert Littlefield had a wild ride into the sand trap and will be sore for a few days.

Tommy Johnson Jr. opened the season with a Funny Car win at the Winternationals.

Mike Hiatt wins Super Comp with his A&K Earthmovers sponsored dragster.

Tony & Cruz Pedregon hired Pat Foster to recreate a car to honor their famous father, Flamin' Frank Pedregon.

Terry Haddock qualified on the bubble and lost to Tony Pedregon in Round One.
