Media Day March Meet 2009

It was held at the track this year. It was a welcome location as the Media can get more accomplished and enjoy a laid back day with the Racers before all the action breaks loose.

There were a select group of cars on display for the media to check out. The drivers or owners were there to answer any questions.

A Select group of cars with drivers to answer every question were on hand for the Media.

Speeches were made from the local welcoming Chamber of Commerce and Politicians. Brad Thompson fired up his Top Fueler. John Ewald fired up his Cackle Top Fueler and everyone was happy with the Nitro fixes.

The Media were treated to jaunts down the Quarter Mile in two Famoso Speed Shop Gassers.

Pair of 11 second Gassers took the Media on 800' squirts.

The drivers made the runs a real as they could with full smoking burnouts, tires hooking up as they neared the line giving the media a real feel for what was to come.

A lot of the Media never traveled down the quarter mile before and got quite the thrill.

Here Louise Kunkel is ready at the line. She is telling the driver she drove our '38 Chev at home to a best of 13.30 and hoped to go quicker. Maybe a 12?

Happy after a 13.04 run. Sure sets us back in the seat harder than our Hot Rod.
