Thomas Motorsports and LenMar Motorsports Merge

At the start of the 2009 drag racing season, team-owner and driver Ken “Bad Bird” Thomas has more than just racing to be excited about this season: a new partnership with LenMar Motorsports  being the main one. LenMar Motorsports will partner with Thomas Motorsports/ Thomas Racing engines for the next 3 years.

“LenMar Motorsports is proud to bring the Bad Bird on as a Team Car,” said Gaylen Smith, president and CEO of LenMar Motorsports. “Teaming up with Ken was an obvious move in our eyes, as the performance and professionalism of his operation is second to none. Smith said, “We are both in the business to sell horse power, and with the merge it makes it that much better.”

The addition of Ken to the LenMar stable gives this team yet another weapon in their already potent arsenal of Outlaw Pro Extreme race cars. It appears that LenMar and Thomas Motorsports are on a mission; their objective is winning the 2009 ADRL Pro Extreme championship and 2009 TOPMA championship.

Ken Thomas and team pulled off a fantastic finish to the 2008 racing season, winning the TOPMA Championship and the Texas Raceway points Championship. Thomas looks to capitalize on the 2008 season and winning 2 championships in ’09.

“We are very, very excited about this season,” said Thomas. “I can’t stress that enough. We’re really looking forward to getting back out to the track and going drag racing. Our plans for this season include running a full TOPMA and ADRL schedule. We are looking forward to the merge. Now both teams can compare information and help each other.

Thomas continued, “Having the support of Gaylen and Mark this year will be critical to our success. There is no lack of serious competition these days, and no matter where we go racing – we’re going to have our hands full. Our plan for this season is to focus on each event, take them one by one, and avoid letting ourselves get caught up in our position in the points.”
