Top Fuel driver Steve Hamilton featured in Tae Bo® Fitness Infomercial

By Steve Baker

R to L: Billy Blanks, Steve Hamilton, and Tae Bo assistant.

Ennis, MT- It will come as no surprise to anyone who knows him that the determined Steve Hamilton will finally be piloting his rookie Top Fuel Dragster in 2004 under the guidance of John Mitchell and his Montana Express team. The team looks forward to showing off the new car and team, but is also excited to show off the "New and Improved" Steve Hamilton. Hamilton, a former driver in the sportsman classes, has shed 65 lbs. over the past few years using the Tae Bo® program designed by Fitness Expert Billy Blanks®.

"When I first decided to drive in the Top Fuel class, John Force encouraged me to lose at least 25 lbs. To me, the Tae Bo® program, which combines kickboxing and aerobics, just made sense." To his surprise, the program worked so well that it was not long before he had knocked off 25 lbs. and was still rolling.

Steve delivers a side kick under the tutelage of Billy Blanks.

"Within four months, I lost over 65 lbs. and three years later have kept it off using the program."

Hamilton credits the Tae Bo® program for many improvements in his private and personal life.

"My concentration is better and I am always on my game." Because his experiences were so positive with the program, Hamilton quickly accepted an invitation this summer from Billy Blanks® to be part of the new Tae Bo 2004 infomercial.

"Being a part of the infomercial served two important goals in my life. First, it gave me the opportunity to educate people on the general importance of fitness and its role in our lives, no matter our careers or goals. Being healthy is important, and hopefully more people will try Billy’s program and improve their health and increase their self-esteem. Second, it gave me the opportunity to spread the message of drag racing to another audience. Many people do not view drag racers as ‘true’ athletes, and the infomercial really gave me the opportunity to show otherwise. It was exciting participating in a program that has been used by entertainers such as Paula Abdul and Neve Campbell, and athletes such as Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal. Hopefully we can create a healthier society and some new drag racing fans."

Hamilton will be competing in his first full professional season this coming year.

Billy Blanks® is the creator of Tae Bo®, the revolutionary total body fitness system that has helped millions of people around the world get in shape and feel great! Tae Bo® targets, sculpts, and contours your body so you build muscle, burn fat, and lose inches. While training in his home, Billy began to combine dance music with his Tae Kwon Do. Billy soon saw the fantastic results of Tae Bo® on him and his family, so in 1989 he opened the Billy Blanks® World Training Center in Sherman Oaks, CA to begin teaching this new workout style he named Tae Bo®. Word of mouth brought the early clients, but when singer-dancer Paula Abdul came through the door and the dramatic benefits of Tae Bo® became quickly apparent, the business took off. Today, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Missy Pyle, Vivica Fox, Brooke Shields, Jack Scalia, Connie Selleca, Farrah Fawcett, Ryan O'Neal, Sinbad, Valerie Bertinelli, Justine Batemen, Shannon Tweed, Goldie Hawn, Lela Rochon, Neve Campbell, Gail O'Grady, Emmanuel Lewis, Rae Dawn Chong, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Pamela Anderson, and Bruce Jenner can be counted among those Tae Bo® and Billy Blanks® helped get in shape.
