The Mad Man Wins TOPMA Opener at TXR

The Mad Man Frankie Taylor made a victorious return to Texas Raceway at the opening TOPMA race of 2009. Taylor qualified number two and beat 2008 TOPMA champion Ken Thomas in the final. Thomas had reset the track ET record in qualifying with a career best 3.89 to garner the number one spot. Taylor bested Steve Wiley in the first round. In the semi finals, Frankie found the 80's with at 3.884 track record win over Gaylen Smith. Taylor met Thomas, who had beaten Jackie Deaver and Gene Hector, in the final. Frankie beat Thomas with a another track record run of 3.881.
