The fluid in the overflow can that I drained yesterday smells bad, but didn't look bad. We will drain the trans on Wed, and see what comes out at that time.

Hopefully, ours just was too hot. If not, we will send it back to Snyder and have it serviced and be ready for the the Slingshot Nat's. :D

what is the capacity of the overflow cans ? in your story Randy you mentioned seeing fluid trailing behind the car. Iremember having my vent ran to the rear but no catchcan on my 400t but never went enough rounds i guess to overheat it

Ours is just over a pint or so. It is more of a vent than a catch can. We knew it would put some fluid into it. Since it is higher than the trans, when it cools back off, it drains back into the trans again.

I will know Wed, what the fluid level is in the trans. Then I will have an idea how much boiled out, or if it just aerated.

Outstanding report of a great race, Rapid...in-depth and up-close information is very much appreciated when it gets here, especially when it's live drag racing and it's coming from the guy who did it...you are exceptionally gifted at this, and it is a thrill to read your race reports, man. We look forward to your posts when we know you raced...Good luck with that tranny...Thanks, WC1
